STRUCTURE

INTRO

1. Grab attention - Why do we need to listen to your essay. 1-3 sentences
2. Intro topic - specific to text   1-sentences
3. Finish with thesis

^^ road map, help the reader out, give them a nice idea of where the essay is going, let them know whats up

BODY
